40 years after the inauguration of the Cross of Lorraine Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises June 18, 1972, the exhibition "A symbol of history, the 40th anniversary of the Cross of Lorraine" tells the story of a symbol 2000 years old which is still in the collective memory attached to General de Gaulle.

The exhibition attempts to show that the preamble Lorraine cross is a powerful symbol that predates Free France. The visitor is then fed to discover how leading man June 18 to select the cross in opposition to the Nazi swastika. Rallying symbol from the shadows at the Liberation, the Cross of Lorraine became a symbol of Gaullist policy.
